Armington Recruiting - Bringing Leaders to the Table

Armington Recruiting establishes long-term relationships with clients and our philosophy is evident in our partnership approach to search. Through a comprehensive plan of action, Armington does all of the groundwork to ensure not only a successful search, but also the right find. Our proven search process delivers a complete picture for finding the perfect match.

Position Assessment and Needs Analysis: In this extremely important phase, we spend considerable time learning about your organization and defining the objectives for the new hire. We meet with the client, members of the search committee and constituents to understand the client organization and obtain the core competencies and leadership style critical for success. Bringing outstanding candidates to the table begins with a well written job description that tells each client’s unique story. Armington crafts an extensive and compelling Position Description. We often are told by candidates not looking for new positions that they were intrigued by our job description and it encouraged the beginning of several conversations. Advertising copy is also developed for placement in key publications and on professional listservs.

Market Research and Candidate Outreach: Armington engages in a multi-prong approach consisting of original research to identify the appropriate target institutions and leaders in the function or discipline who are at the forefront of their profession. We draw on an extensive database to cast a wide net and reach hundreds of professionals to present the opportunity, determine interest, and evaluate qualifications.

Candidate Evaluation and CV Submission: Through in-depth evaluations with candidates, we narrow the pool to only those finalists who precisely match the Position Description possessing the specific expertise and academic requirements. Through extensive interviewing, including behavioral interviewing, less obvious but equally important characteristics are uncovered including leadership style, entrepreneurial spirit and vision. The end goal is to submit candidates with the expertise and skill set required to make a mutually satisfying and long-term match.
